You It is an excursion through the ancient times of colonial Brazil. That’s what you’re going to witness in the streets of the historical center of São Luis. Apart from the architecture, considered the most homogeneous of civil Portuguese origin in Latin America, the excursion still includes the prettiest beaches of the island, its legends, its folklore, and its people. There you will find narrow roads, big houses, stairs and numerous important monuments that preserve the memory of that city which is considered the “city of tiles and leftovers”.
The Project Revival that revitalized parts of the historical center is today an attractive “business card”: the ancient manufactory 'Cânhamo', transformed into a comfortable shopping center with the best handicraft of Maranhão: the theatre, museums, etc. All in all, the fascinations and beauties of São Luis, the only Brazilian capital that was not born Portuguese but French.
