Let's discover Rio's most peaceful spots and its exouberant nature. It is only around the corner!
The Botanical Garden was first planted by Dom Joao in 1808. More than 6,200 varieties of plants are spread over 141 hectares. At the weekends you will meet many families, but during weekdays it is really quiet and peaceful.
The row of palms right in the main entry and the Amazonas section with its huge vitoria-regia water lilies are some of the highlights.
We will visit as well the Catacumba Park. It exhibits sculputures by visual artists of internation renown. Besides viewing these works of art, the visittor can venture into a 20-minutewalk along a 350 meter trail to a look-out where the view is simply fabulous.
