The PANTANAL, the largest contiguous wetland on the planet, declared a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, is South America’s primary wildlife sanctuary. With a total area of approximately 150,000km2 and located in the center of the continent, the Pantanal is a biogeography mixing bowl containing elements of the Amazon Forest, the Caatinga, the Brazilian Savannah, the Atlantic Rainforest and the Paraguayan Chaco. This fantastic biodiversity includes: 698 birds species, 80 mammals, 260 fish species and 50 reptiles. Located amidst this unique and rare biological diversity is the ARARAS ECO LODGE (16º 30’ 42.3” South latitude; 56º 42’ 39.4” West longitude). Built in harmony with the environment, without renouncing comfort, the lodge is reachable all year-round by car via the Transpantaneira Park Road, 132 km (82 mi) south of Cuiabá (the capital of the State of Mato Grosso). From this lodge, with its enviably preserved surroundings, it is possible to do first-class bird-watching, trekking in pristine forest, canoeing, horseback riding, truck photo-safaris, night tours and much more, all under the assistance of expert bilingual naturalist guides.

Day -
Cuiabá / Pantanal
Arrival at Cuiabá, Varzea Grande airport, or pick up at your hotel and transfer to Pantanal lowlands.
While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local flora & fauna.
Sunset observation trekking through the surrounding area.
Dinner at the lodge.
After dinner, night tour to observe the nocturnal environment.
Overnight at Araras Eco Lodge.

Day -
Pantanal
Full day to observe Pantanal's flora & fauna.
After breakfast, the guide will lead you by car, trekking and horseback ride through this particular ecosystem, allowing you to learn and understand the local environment.
Lunch, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day -
Pantanal
Exploration trip on the Pantanal raised dirt roads, including the Transpantaneira Park Road.
Canoe tour to spot aquatic wildlife, birds and flora; possibility to arrange piranha fishing.
Picnic lunch on route.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Sunrise hike.

Enjoyment at lodge surroundings, before your photo safari transfer to Cuiabá.
